I'd be interested to hear more about your experience of Human Givens training. Have you done the addiction seminar and workshops? What did you think?
I first went to a Human Givens workshop in Sept. last year and wathced Joe Griffen demonstrating his Guided Imagery. I was very ipmressed and since then have attended other seminars and workshops, and have booked to do the full Human Givens Diploma. I have used some of the techniques with clients with anxiety and depression with good results. I don't usually work with people with addictions so I am probably not best placed to commen, but certainly I could find nothing I disagreed with in the Addictions seminar, which I attended back in January. I have got the workshop booked for later in in the year. People either seem to like this approach to psychotherapy or not, I have spoken to people who have attended a seminar and weren't impressed, whereas I on the other hand found in deeply useful. All I can say is I have seen it work with clients and thats what counts for me. Also Joe Griffen is an excellent and informative speaker, well worth listening to. Hope to see you on one of the workshops! Ralph

Thanks Ralph. Yes, I am thinking of trying to attend one to get a favour of his approach. I have read the human givens self help books. i thought the anxiety one was the best. the addiction one might work better with people drinking less than my clients, but i will reserve judgement. may be we can chat about it at the Buddhist House one day!
